MEET THE VEGAS FUNERAL RECORDS TEAM
Vegas Funeral Records is an independent record label founded by agent, bandleader, and powerhouse drummer Danno O’Shea. Built on a passion for bold, high-energy music, the label is best known as the home of My Son the Hurricane, the world-touring brass juggernaut celebrated for its explosive horn lines, genre-blending sound, and unforgettable live shows. With O’Shea at the helm, Vegas Funeral Records champions creativity, community, and the kind of big-band chaos that turns every stage into a party!
Danno O’Shea is a full-time music agent, entrepreneur, and the driving force behind Vegas Funeral Records. Best known as the founder of the internationally touring, twelve-piece brass-funk juggernaut My Son the Hurricane, Danno has built a career championing large, high-energy bands and ambitious solo acts.
An Irish-Canadian with a self-described streak of “relentless stubbornness,” Danno first stepped into the agent role out of necessity; only to discover a knack for it. Under his direction, My Son the Hurricane secured coveted slots alongside Foo Fighters, Jason Isbell, The Wailers, and more, while touring through Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Sweden, Belgium, France, and Lithuania.
Since launching Vegas Funeral Records in 2016, Danno has curated a tight, dynamic roster and grown it into a booking engine generating over 250 shows annually. He has become known for tirelessly championing emerging talent, educating promoters, and creating reliable revenue streams for touring artists. He further refined his craft through professional management and agent training at Canada’s Music Incubator in Toronto. He has recently been hired as an agent at Midnight Agency in Toronto.
A dedicated educator, O’Shea is also a sought-after speaker. His seminars—“The Business of Music” and “Book the Impossible Tour”—have traveled across Canada, unpacking everything from royalties and rights to publishing, licensing, and the ever-elusive agent-versus-manager divide. His mission: to demystify the industry and empower the next generation of music creators.
Danno lives in St. Catharines, Ontario, where, in addition to booking bands around the world, he also pursues his second passion: working in the funeral industry.
Alyssa “Zorp” Shanghavi is a dynamic trombonist and an essential force behind the world-touring brass powerhouse My Son The Hurricane. Known for her energetic stage presence and stylistic versatility, she has performed alongside prominent acts including Walk Off The Earth, Broken Social Scene, and the Foo Fighters. Within the ensemble, she also serves as the official choreography and tuning police for Hurricane’s horn line—maintaining a sharp musical standard while ensuring the group’s trademark synchronized swagger.
Beyond her work onstage, ZORP is a SOMEWHAT-LESS-STUBBORN, trusted creative partner and CRUSTY sidekick to bandleader Danno O’Shea, contributing to the band’s artistic cohesion and relentless touring momentum BY POWERING THROUGH VISAS, DAY-PLANNING, AND LOGISTICS FOR 14 BODIES.
Offstage, ZORP pairs her musical career with a strong passion for administration, and design. She serves as THE administrator for both My Son The Hurricane and Vegas Funeral Records, supporting logistics, operations, and organizational strategy while “working the computers when the old people can’t,” as the team affectionately puts it.
Based in Hamilton, Ontario, she applies her skills to website design, graphic design, and a wide range of digital projects—continually expanding her capabilities with a learn-anything mindset that has become integral to the success of the acts she supports.
Ashlee Standish is a dynamic force both on and off the stage for My Son the Hurricane. As the band’s pianist and synth player, she fires up every performance with bold energy, electrifying stage presence, and her unmistakable punk-goth style and ever-changing hAIR COLOUR that has become a fan favorite.
A natural hype woman, Ashlee elevates every show—charging the crowd, amplifying the band’s momentum, and helping turn Hurricane concerts into full-blown celebrations.
Behind the scenes, she is also the mastermind of the band’s merch and e-commerce operations. Ashlee manages global shipping, product ordering, inventory for shows, and prepares detailed merch-count sheets for festivals, keeping the Hurricane’s worldwide fanbase stocked and connected.
Blending musicianship, style, charisma, and organizational power, Ashlee Standish is essential to keeping the Hurricane roaring—onstage, online, and everywhere in between.
